My painting, “Before the Birds Began to Sing,” is now featured on the cover of a new book in Dutch. The book is a translation of Primo Levi’s “autobiography in dialogues.” Levi was from Italy, a Holocaust survivor and acclaimed writer. His writings include “If This Is a Man: Survival in Auschwitz,” and “The Periodic Table,” which the Royal Institution of Great Britain named the best science book ever written.
Through a happy serendipity, a publisher in the Netherlands found an image of my painting on Pinterest. They contacted me about using the painting for this book cover, and I gladly agreed. So if any of you happen to speak Dutch, you could read this book and let me know what you think.
